MNCHEN (AFN) - Siemens heeft in het eerste kwartaal van zijn gebroken boekjaar kwartaal geprofiteerd van sterkere vraag naar producten van zijn infrastructurele tak. Dat bleek dinsdag bij de presentatie van de cijfers over de afgelopen periode. Het was het eerste kwartaal dat het conglomeraat onder leiding van de nieuwe topman Joe Kaeser doormaakte.
Siemens zag de winst uit voortgezette activiteiten met 21 procent stijgen tot 1,4 miljard euro en versloeg daarmee de verwachtingen van analisten. De omzet daalde met 3 procent tot 17,3 miljard euro.
De winst bij de sector Infrastructuur en Steden, die in dezelfde periode een jaar geleden nog de minst winstgevende was bij het concern, verdubbelde ruim tot 330 miljoen euro, waarbij de omzet met 5 procent steeg. Ook in de takken Gezondheidszorg en energie ging de winstgevendheid omhoog. Alleen bij de tak Industrie was er sprake van een daling.

Kaeser liet weten dat de marktomstandigheden voor Siemens nog steeds ongunstig waren. Het bedrijf blijf focussen op de productiviteit, aldus de topman. Kaeser trad in augustus aan, nadat zijn voorganger Peter Löscher opstapte na het afgeven van een winstwaarschuwing.
Siemens maakte dinsdag ook bekend dat het zijn notering aan de beurs in New York beëindigd. Het bedrijf denkt op deze manier kosten te besparen en de financiële berichtgeving te versimpelen

Ongeveer 7600 arbeidsplaatsen zullen verloren gaan door het stroomlijnen van het bedrijf en de creatie van een nieuwe divisiestructuur en nog eens 4000 banen moeten verdwijnen als gevolg van het regionaal samenvoegen van activiteiten. Duitse zakenmedia meldden eerder dat Siemens van plan was 10.000 arbeidsplaatsen te schrappen, vooral bij zijn vestiging in Erlangen en bij het hoofdkantoor in München.

Kaeser hätte am liebsten eine Lösung für BSH schon am 7. Mai präsentiert, als er unter dem Schlagwort „Siemens – Vision 2020“ eine neue, schlankere und damit wettbewerbsfähigere Struktur für den Münchener Konzern vorstellte.
Hausgeräte gehören nicht zum Kerngeschäft von Siemens. Derzeit feilschen die Münchner mit Bosch um die Konditionen. Strittig ist die weitere Nutzung der Markenrechte, die Bewertung der Anteile und damit letztlich der Preis der BSH-Hälfte. Die Transaktion hat eine Größenordnung von mindestens 5 Milliarden Euro.
